To mark the onset of Autumn, Navaratri (Nava=Nine, Ratri=Night) is celebrated throughout the Indian subcontinent in all different provinces with the same theme of welcoming Autumn.
At ICSD, we celebrated with Garba evening. The evening started with couple of rounds of dancing together for the tunes of Garba (dancing in the formation of circle). As all the enthusiasts got warmed up, there were games on the same theme! The Garba-Dance-Freeze showed dancers frozen in funny poses of Garba. Followed by couples dancing on paper struggling to stay on the paper being folded during each break. After the games, the dance floor was let loose forfree-style bollywood dance. Before pulling down the curtains for the evening, all the tired dancers enjoyed the home made dinner (thanks to all the girls of ICSD). Not the least, funny quiz by quiz master Tashi (Wangdi) planted smiles on the faces till we meet next.
